Our StoryThe Marlowe School was founded with a simple purpose: to create a beautiful place where childhood is treasured, curiosity is nurtured, and learning becomes a lifelong joy.
Each day, children explore carefully prepared Montessori materials and enjoy rich language experiences, music, art, nature, and meaningful work. Lessons are individualized, allowing every child to progress at their own pace while developing independence, resilience, and a genuine love of learning.
At Marlowe, we believe childhood should be filled with wonder and that children deserve time to think deeply, create freely, and discover the world through their own hands. That belief has shaped every decision we've made — from the materials on our shelves to the way we greet each family at our door. It remains true today, just as it did on our very first day.
Our HistoryIn June 2010, The Marlowe School opened in a 1920s storybook cottage on Paces Ferry Place. In May 2018, we celebrated our final year in Tuxedo Park and moved our sweet school to the Miami Circle design district, where we remain today.
The Marlowe School is named in honor of Kristin's mother, whose own school was affectionately known as "Ms. Marlowe's School." Growing up in a family of Montessori educators, Kristin spent her childhood watching classrooms come alive with curiosity, independence, and joy. Today, she carries that same tradition forward for a new generation of children.
Our MissionIt is our mission to nurture each child's innate curiosity and love of learning through an individualized path suited to their evolving interests and abilities, in a classroom culture built on respect, kindness, and empathy.
Our vision is that every child who grows up at The Marlowe School carries that curiosity, kindness, and confidence with them well beyond our classroom — equipped to succeed academically, navigate relationships with empathy, and approach the world with a lasting love of learning.
Meet Our DirectorKristin Grant is a fourth-generation Montessorian with more than twenty years of experience educating young children. Her family's Montessori legacy stretches back to 1959, when they opened their first school along the East Coast.
Throughout her career, Kristin has founded two schools, opened five campuses, developed curriculum, mentored dozens of practice teachers, and served as a curriculum consultant for her family's schools. She has also served on multiple executive boards supporting nonprofits across Georgia and has participated on accreditation visiting teams, evaluating Montessori schools throughout the United States. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Georgia and her Master of Education from Loyola University Maryland. She holds the internationally recognized Primary Diploma (ages 2½–6) from the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), widely regarded as the gold standard in Montessori teacher preparation. Outside of school, Kristin enjoys reading, traveling, and making music with her husband and two daughters.
